Welcome to the 4th Rochford Scout Group website.
This FAQ should answer any questions regarding the restricted nature of
this site and why registration is not straightforward and automated.
This website is moderated and controlled by Tim Neobard.
The Public face of this site
The public face of the site (which you are now viewing) allows us to
publish information on upcoming fundraising and public events we are
holding. It is not for advertising meeting times, activities etc.
The Restricted area
Due to sensitivites regarding young people, we are unable to
publish certain content regarding the times and dates of forthcoming
activies. The restricted area allows us to publish such
information, however to do this requires a certain amount of
beaurocracy to enable user accounts to authorised individuals.
Registering for the site
We require the following information:
Your prefered username - usernames should be one continuous word not including special charactors (eg michael82)
Your full name
A valid email address. Please print this carefully
Your relationship to the group (eg Parent, Guardian, Cub, Scout etc) -
if you are a parent/guardian please state the child. If you are a
parent/guardian who has more than one child in our group at more than
one level (such as one child beaver, one child cub etc) please state
this.
Your password will be provided on activation via email. When you
log in for the first time it is recommended you change this to a more
secure password of your choice. Passwords are stored encrypted on
our server and we are unable to read them. Should you loose your
password you can have a replacement emailed to your email
address. Should you change email address and loose your password,
you will have to resubmit your application.
You can get the internet signup sheet available here
Please hand this to a leader ASAP
Photographs
Photographs of activities and events may be taken with your child in
attendance. These photographs are not viewable by the general
public and will not be reproduced publically without parents consent.
We will be providing all parents with an opt out form for when we post
photographs publically. Any objections to published photographs
should be emailed to the webmaster. Please note that photographs
taken at public events are not subject to scout policy. We are
unable to control photographs published outside our domain.
